Overview:

The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) invites online applications for Short Service Commissioned (SSC) Medical Officers from eligible Indian citizens, both male and female. The registration for online applications will commence on 16th July 2024 and conclude on 4th August 2024. This recruitment drive is open to candidates who have successfully completed their MBBS (Part-I & II) examinations within two attempts and will have completed their internship by or before 15th August 2024. Additionally, applicants must have qualified in the NEET PG examination during the years 2022 or 2023. Candidates with a Post Graduate (PG) medical degree recognized by the National Medical Council (NMC) or equivalent are exempt from appearing in NEET PG again, with their previous scores considered valid.

Eligibility	Indian citizens (male/female), MBBS (Part-I & II) ≤2 attempts, completed internship by 15 Aug 2024, qualified NEET PG (2022/2023). Civilian PG holders exempt.
Qualification	Medical qualification under National Medical Council Act, 2019.
Age Limit	≤30 years (MBBS), born on/after 02 Jan 1995; ≤35 years (PG), born on/after 02 Jan 1990.
Vacancy	450 (338 male + 112 female), valid till 31 Mar 2025, subject to vacancy exhaustion.
Place of Interview	Delhi
Interview Schedule	From 28 Aug 2024 onwards, Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi Cantt.
Selection Process	Shortlisting (NEET PG marks), interview (Aug/Sep 2024). Medical & physical standards apply.
Merit List	≥50% in interview, based on prorated NEET PG marks (out of 200) and interview marks.
Employability	Posting based on service needs in Army, Navy, or Air Force. PG holders as General Duty Medical Officers.
Emoluments	Rank: Captain (or equivalent). Pay: Rs. 61300 + MSP Rs. 15500 + HRA + NPA + Transport Allowance + Dress Allowance + Dearness Allowance.
Promotion	Eligible for promotion up to Major (or equivalent), based on service criteria.
Tenure of Engagement	Initial 5 years, extendable up to 14 years based on eligibility and vacancies.
Departmental Commission	Eligible after 2 years, departmental exam and criteria apply.
PG/Super Speciality	Available based on organizational needs and service rules.
